Die Stadt Sulina ist eine Insel, welche von einer Seite von der Donau und rund herum von Kanälen begrenzt werden. Daher sprechen die Bewohner auch gerne von dem Menschen auf dem “Kontinent” oder “Festland” und meinen damit Städte wie Tulcea, Galati und Braila.

From Sulina the path leads into the Danube Delta to the village of Letea, famous for its wild horses, the Letea Forest and lots and lots of nature, peace and quiet.
Letea can be reached by boat from Sulina. There you change to a horse-drawn carriage, since it is not allowed to visit the forest of Letea with motorized vehicles (nature reserve).
Back in Letea you will be spoiled with delicious, local food (fresh fish) and of course with the house drink of the area… Tuica (pronounced: Zuika), a traditional spirit from Romania made exclusively from plums.
