Sulina in the Danube Delta

Sulina, located at the easternmost point of Romania, is a unique destination in the Danube Delta, where the river flows directly into the Black Sea. Since the town is accessible exclusively by boat from Tulcea, visitors can expect a particularly laid-back atmosphere.
Highlights of a stay in Sulina:
– Nature & Beach: A sprawling sandy beach on the Black Sea invites you to take a dip, while boat tours into the Danube Delta offer glimpses of the rich birdlife and the subtropical Letea Forest with its wild horses.
– Cuisine: The local cuisine is known for its variety of fish specialties.
Important information:
Travel is by passenger ship or speedboat from Tulcea (duration approx. 1.5 to 4 hours). The best time to visit is from May to September.

Sulina | Waterfront Promenade

Faleza (waterfront promenade) of Sulina is approximately five (5) km long. It begins at Mila 2 and, alongside the typical blue and green houses, the path is interrupted by new buildings (mostly hotels and accommodations) until you reach the old town center.
Even in the town itself, you will encounter horses that belong to no one and roam freely as they please. There are few cars (as they have to be brought to Sulina by ship), and time seems to pass more slowly here…

Musura Bay

Musura Bay (Golful Musura) is located in the Danube Delta, near the town of Sulina. It is part of the Black Sea, but is strongly influenced by the fresh water of the Danube, which is why the water is brackish.
Hundreds of swans raise their chicks in the reeds by the pier. In the calm waters of the bay, we also find pelicans, seagulls, cormorants, larks, herons, and often even terns searching for food.
